I hardly know where to begin. My brother Lance and I have so many childhood memories filled with Uncle Roy, Aunt Audrey, Lisa, and Michelle. The photo chosen for Uncle Roy’s memorial is absolutely perfect—it captured him just as we remember.
When my mother passed away, Uncle Roy and Chris Barrett came to our home in Ormond Beach with a group of friends, plenty of food, and a set of dominoes—portable table and all. They set up in the living room and played for hours, from daylight well into the night. They laughed, they joked, and they cried. Their presence and their warmth brought my father so much comfort and healing during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
I will never forget the love Uncle Roy showed us throughout the years. May his soul rest in peaceful, gentle sleep.

We are thankful to our dear brother Roy for his kindness and friendship throughout the Twenty-Two years that we have known him. We have celebrated many wonderful times together, that created lasting memories. The passion you showed while playing dominos will always remind us of the bond you shared with many of your closest friends. Your humorous laughter was always heard...since it gave approval that the joke was truly funny! One of our fondest memories of our beloved brother was the love he gave to his dogs, which showed his deep compassion for animals. He was truly a humbled humanitarian, that was always available to assist anyone that needed help. May our dear brother Rest in Eternal Peace. Michelle and Lisa, my heartfelt condolences of Love and adoration to you both as you remained daughters that your Dad could be proud of. This new road you are on is not easy, but put your faith and trust in God through Jesus Christ and He will give you peace beyond your understanding and assurity in those things which seem unsure. I know you Loved your Dad, but the Love you had for him should never cease, but instead transfer to all with whom you meet, such as sharing his infectious smile with others and live in such a way that your presence will resound in joy when you are amongst others, as your Dad had such a big "presence" that will remain with the lives he has touched and made a positive difference in. You are my cousins for life and I too bare the sorrow of our loss, so no matter the time or distance, I am praying for you, believing the best for you in this new life in which you are walking in, and trusting that God will see you through, by showing you His wonderful grace, peace and mercy, which surpasses all understanding.

My Fond Memories of My Uncle Roy:
I remember the last time I saw you in Florida not too long before you moved to Texas, and that infectious smile of yours, consumed the room.
I grew up watching the blows you delivered while playing dominos, whoa unto those, who did not exhibit your passion and skill - to watch you play was such a thrill!
The fiery joy you had for wrestling, while expressing, your sincere satisfaction or disatisfaction was an event in and of itself - watching you become the sideline referee, what a sight to see!
I will always be thankful for how comfortable you always made my family and I feel when we spent time with you, Aunt Audrey, Lisa and Michelle. You treated us, oh so well - and with this, Uncle Roy for now, I must say, thank you and farewell.
Aunt Audrey you are such a blessing as you remained a devoted wife, partnering with Uncle Roy to build a good life. You worked to grant him peace towards the end of his earthly life, which you did whatever you could to relieve any strife. Please view photos of the joyous time my Mom, Eulando, my Aunt Freda and Uncle Roy spent talking and laughing as cousins, reminiscing about past times, which also included time well spent with my Dad, Venniel and Aunt Audrey.
I keep thinking about that day Uncle Roy asked me to sneak him out of the house “real quick” to pick up some money from the store just around the corner. I should’ve known better... Fifteen minutes later, we were nowhere near a corner store but instead at the main supermarket. He looked over at me with that little grin of his and admitted he just needed to go play his numbers. I couldn’t even be mad; I just burst out laughing. That was Uncle Roy—mischievous, charming, and always able to turn an ordinary moment into a story worth keeping.
I miss you, Uncle Roy. I miss the laughs, the surprises, and that infectious joy you carried everywhere you went. I know you’re at peace now… and I’d like to think you’re finally hitting your numbers, too.

I remember the day when Roy and I went to the lake in Claremont, in the mini, the engine was on but the car was quiet. He thought he put it in reverse but it was actually first and we almost ended up in the lake.
I remember playing dominoes with Roy he was in a class of excellence by himself, surely one of the greatest players..love you Pops.
