I was 26 when I was referred to Dr. Whitmire by one my sister's n laws. He delivered all 3 of her children. He delivered my one and only child. I continued with him for my well woman exam every six months. He performed major surgery on me for a serious female issue. I enjoyed interacting with Dr. Whitmire. He was so personable and cared about women health. The best doctor I ever had. I had an appointment scheduled the morning of May 1st. The doors were locked and his answering service was even concerned because no one answered. I feared the worst on that day. Thanking of you today. You are truly missed as a the perfect physician. He thought me and my sister n law was a mess because we said what was on our mind. Mississippi girls!

I am so sorry for Dr.Whitmires passing I am shocked to hear the bad news. Dr.Whitemire has been my OBGYN since I was a teen also delivered all 3 of my kids.I was calling to make a doctors appointment and so saddened to get the news.He will be truely missed... may he rest in peace....~Amy~

He was the best, most respectful doctor. He treated black women WELL, regardless of status or income. Get your rest, Dr. Whitmire...You were appreciated and you will be missed...

I met Dr.Whitmire almost 9 years ago and from the beginning he was an an amazing Doctor and he give me the nick name trouble but toke good care of me and my problem with my unborn children and just a couple of month ago I came back with a number of problems he fussed but promised me I would be ok,and he would help me too get better and with the charm and care for his patient,my prayer are the family his wonderful person rest in paradise! Thanks letting God use you to heal and help. Bring life

I, Ivy Lee was referred by Dr. U Watkins and my mom whom was a friend of his parents for a medical issue. That appointment began our long history as Dr. and patient.. He referred to me as Trouble. I had numerous female issues that he corrected. Was so whippy he had to pamper me during my health conditions. He delivered three of my kids. He went on to deliver my daughter's twins. Camelia Lee-Guidry. A week later he delivered niece twins, Franchella Williams. You were so proud to have delivered two sets of twins from The.Bobb family. Although you treated many females in my family y ou stated I was your worst patient. You saw me as a strong black female. I was hospitalized 5 months before my twins were born due to complications. Unfortunately one twin did not survive. You gave me words of comforts and helped me make an informed decision to be an organ donor. You jokingly told me to name Matthew Chosen. We maintained a Dr. and Patient relationship for years. We also served as members of the NAACP Executive Board. These are my fondest /memories that I have to share. You were the greatest Ob/Gyn. I am still Trouble; Battling many illnesses with success. You will surly be missed. My condolences goes out to the family. You always thought you were cute. Always saying The Whitmire's are handsome. RIP DrWhitmire
