Saying goodbye to my Big Cousin, EV3. He was one of the smartest men in my family. He was a jack of all trades and a master at being a man. He was the first black man that I know of to scuba dive and perfected things he enjoyed like hunting, fishing, working on cars and talking shit playing dominoes because he was so competitive. Emile loved his uncle Butler and always talked about his accomplishments. I am grateful for the guidance, lessons and tough love that he never wavered from.

Now it’s time for me to give my Big Cousin his second round of flowers, and I truly thank him for marrying such a beautiful lady, Lillian, and having 2 of my favorite cousins, Ken and Candy.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.” 🌲
These words rang incredibly true this weekend as we came together with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to celebrate the life of Emile Viola III.
Beneath his tough exterior, Emile was entirely devoted to others. He was always giving, doing, and encouraging everyone he crossed paths with to “do”—to do it right, make it better, and make it last.
Sitting around the fire pit last night, looking across the land he loved, seeing the trees he planted, and hearing everyone laugh and reminisce in his barn, I could easily imagine his smile.
To my dear lifelong friend Kendria, her amazing mom Lillian, her sister Candice, and the entire family: our family will continue to love, support, and cherish y’all, just like your Dad did for all of us. Thank you for letting us share in his beautiful legacy. ❤️

in honor of Emile.

Emile was a Good Friend who always stayed the same. We met at Foley's Department Store in the IT Department and from there a Family relationship grew. We then attended TSU together. Emile was the Big Brother that I never had. He was Smart, Hilarious, Friend, Fellow Hunter, Fellow Fisherman, Fellow Motorcycle Rider, A Groomsman in my wedding and part of my Family that will be truly missed. He and my Family clicked as through out the years. He was the kind of person who when he said something that he could back it up and if you needed backup, you wanted him on your side. We met his lovely wife "Lillian" who was and is a truly love mate that he counted on through out his Journey. We had such good times together and he will truly be missed. He even encouraged me to go to Exxon with him while we were at TSU and I decided not to because of some personal reasons. May God continue to bless his Family as they continue their journey remembering all of the good times we all shared with Emile and his Family.
