Mrs. Doris M. Middleton's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Middleton entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2024. She has joined her beloved husband, Howard J. Middleton, Jr. and together they shall rejoice in the house of the Lord.
Doris M. Knighton Middleton was born January 16, 1937 in Seven Oaks, Texas to the parentage of Lewis Knighton and Erma Lee Sykes Manuel. She attended Wheatley High School where she was a majorette. Doris continued her education at Texas Southern University and graduated with a Masters in Education.
Once Doris met the love of her life, Howard J. Middleton, Jr., she took much pride in supporting him with his community and philanthropic efforts. With their union, they had their son, Hilton J. Middleton; and she gained the love of Howard’s children, Horatio, Hilda and Donald Middleton.
Doris enjoyed shopping, planting flowers in the yard, going to Cajun Town to eat fried oysters, attending Rodeo events, and finding the latest seafood restaurants. She found great fulfillment in being a dutiful wife, loving mother and supporter of community betterment.
Doris departed this earthly life to be with Lord on February 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents and dear husband.
Her earthly absence from this world will surely have a void in the heart of her devoted and caring son, Hilton. She leaves to cherish her memory, Howard’s children, Hilda and Donald (Tina); grandchildren Merrick, Kedrick, Dameon, Kyle, De Lora, Damitra, Jaleesa, Jonathon, Dominique, Howard-Joseph, Kelsea and Madison. She also leaves her cousins, Rena Boudreaux, Latorshia Eleby, Floyd Eleby, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, additional cousins and friends.
