Acie Ostell Phillips Jr. was born on March 11, 1945 in Dallas, TX. He was the only child of proud parents Acie Phillips Sr and Essie Mae Phillips. He professed a hope and faith in Christ at an early age and became a member of Salem International Baptist Church (Dallas, TX).
Acie graduated with honors from Lincoln High School in Dallas, TX. After graduation, he attended Tuskegee University. Acie graduated in 1967 with a BBA. Throughout his college years, Acie maintained long-distance correspondence with his High School sweetheart, Carrie LaVerne Gillmore (Dallas, TX). The young and ambitious couple were married in September 1967 and together began a marriage journey that lasted more than 41 years.
In 1982, Acie decided to become an entrepreneur and founded A.O. Phillips & Associates, a management consulting firm focused on strategic sourcing and supplier diversity program services. For over 39 years under his leadership the firm distinguished itself as a subject matter expert and assisted in the growth and development of a countless number of Small, Minority and Women owned businesses.
