Mrs. Verdia Ruth Jenkins, retired HISD counselor for over 30 years, transitioned peacefully on October 5 2018 at Kindred Hospice in Sugar Land, TX.
A Memorial Service celebrating a life well lived will be held at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
Verdia is preceded in death by her son, Larry Griffen and a sister Mrs. Frances Smith. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Cherry Ross Gooden of Houston, TX, her brother, Don Robert Ross (Ola) of Grandview, MO and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
