I saw the obituary for Sylvia in the Houston Chronicle on Friday, February 13. Sylvia and I worked together at METRO back in the 1980s. She was young, recently out of college; and, quite frankly, Sylvia was brilliant. I remember her as one of the best individuals on our planning team. At the time, she and I would laugh because she was the first person I knew to be into "celebrity gossip". We went to the same church for a while, so I met her mother and sister. Such a loving, wonderful family. I'm certain I hadn't seen or talked to Sylvia in more than 30 years. Still, my memories are totally warm and fond. I am grateful for the time we worked together, and I got to know her. I share my prayers and thoughts of comfort for her family and close friends. Carol Abel LewIs

in honor of Sylvia.

I have many memorials of Sylvia and cherish every one of them. She was funny in her own subtle way. Her salutation was delightful and funny at the same time. I would often respond the same way and laugh. I appreciated her authenticity. It was my pleasure to have known her. She was my client, but more importantly, my friend. She will always be on my Mount Rushmore as a client. She always expressed appreciation for my legal services which was refreshing. Personally, I enjoyed preparing meals for her and Wanda. I will forever cherish my memories of their seriousness in consuming those meals. There were no leftovers. Although; we have lost the earthly presence of Sylvia, she is not lost. God has collected her spirit. My earthly goal is to live a life that is worthy of reuniting with souls like Sylvia. This life is short and fragile, but Heaven is Eternal and blissful. Good bye for now my friend.

Sylvia will truly be missed. Condolences to her family and friends. May God continue to comfort you in your time of need.
Her kindness, knowledge and strength made her a true blessing to others. She inspired me at METRO to strive for perfection in the job at hand and I still do to this day.

Sylvia was my mail carrier and a really sweet lady. We would chat when we crossed paths. It was hard to catch her though. She would zoom around in the mail truck - those tires were on fire!!! I still have sweet tea in my refrigerator waiting to catch Sylvia on a mail run. My heart is broken.
