My condolences to the family. Coach Rushing was my 6th Grade PE Teacher (1st Class) Woodson Middle School. Dr. Gentry principal in 1980-1981. Wow what a coach she was bold believed in discipline and made sure we dressed for fitness. Students did not skip dressing for gym like they do now, or the Paddle would come. I had a great respect for Ms. Rushing she did not play with any disrespect. We learned to know and apply respecting Adult Authority. Although I did not play on the Girls Basketball Team, she prepared many powerful female players (record-breaking) stats. I did get to wash the Team Uniforms in laundry for her. Post Civil Rights Educator who set the pace at Woodson and Worthing. I am thankful for her commitment to Black kids like me in the hood who have went on to do great things. Rest in peace
