Mr. Robert Clinton "Bob" Allman II's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Clinton "Bob" Allman II, who passed away on December 25, 2024, in Houston, Texas, after a courageous battle with a rare blood disorder. He was 71 years old.
Born on April 26, 1953, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Bob lived a life marked by passion, generosity, and an unwavering enthusiasm for his many interests. A proud graduate of Clarksburg Notre Dame High School in 1971, Bob went on to earn his degree from West Virginia University in 1975. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Baytown, Texas, where he built a successful career as a chemical process operator for Conoco, dedicating 31 years to the company before his retirement.
Bob was a man of remarkable talents and diverse hobbies. He was an accomplished craftsman who created museum-quality model ships and earned international recognition as a master straight razor maker. His love for precision extended to his involvement with the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), where he was an avid participant. Bob also had a deep passion for motorcycling and approached every endeavor with boundless energy and dedication.
Beyond his skills and accomplishments, Bob will be remembered for his generous spirit and willingness to share his knowledge with others. He mentored many who shared his interests and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. His kindness and warmth made him beloved by all who crossed his path.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Barbara Allman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Cathy Allman; his sisters Kathy Lilly and Kristy Monk; his brothers Bill Allman and Brian Allman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Known affectionately as “Uncle Bob” to many of his friends’ children, he held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
In the face of Amyloidosis, Bob displayed extraordinary courage when he made the decision to forego treatment—a testament to his strength of character and resolve.
Bob’s legacy is one of creativity, generosity, and resilience. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and be an inspiration to all who were touched by his life.
