I got to know Rennes at Holocaust Museum Houston. I always loved talking with her and sharing family stories. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. She was such a loving and caring person.
I joined HMH as a volunteer a few weeks before COVID temporarily closed the museum in 2020. I am usually at the museum store, where I often got to talk to Rennes during her time there. She was very friendly, accessible, and I learned a lot about the history and stories about the museum from her. She will be missed.
I met Rennes when she started working for the Gandhi Museum. Rennes will always be remembered with fondness specially for her genuine, kind and gentle demeanour. She greeted one and all at the Eternal Gandhi Museum with a welcoming warmth. Students kept their attention while she spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s struggles and triumphs and his legacy.
The few times we spoke of them, I could tell how much her family meant to her. She was especially proud of her daughters and grandkids.
Rennes’s presence will always be felt amongst us.

Mama Reness I cannot believe you are no longer with us. You were my earthly appointed God mother. I had such a great deal of respect, love and admiration for you. From holocaust museum days we remained in touch, every Friday we connected on work and life happenings. I just shared I lost and then got the heart wrenching news of now losing you. I love you to life and will always cherish our beautiful conversations and memories we have shared over the years. You have always been a phenomenal woman of God and I just know God had his door wide open for you. I will always love you today, tomorrow and always. ❤️
I first met Rennes over a year ago while working with her at the Eternal Gandhi Museum. Rennes was an exceptional individual with a kind and beautiful spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was actively involved in community initiatives, with a particular focus on supporting homeless individuals. Notably, we both shared a fondness for the color purple and blue, and occasionally, our outfits would coincidentally match. Additionally, we would often engage in thought-provoking conversations about the spiritual connection of energy, which we both instinctively sensed. And Rennes often experienced seeing the angel numbers 1111. Rennes brought immense value to the Eternal Gandhi Museum through her educational tours, wealth of knowledge, and unwavering kindness towards all visitors. The news of Rennes' passing filled my heart with profound sadness, but I am convinced that her spirit continues to exist in a realm beyond our visibility, where it remains a comforting presence to those who knew her intimately.
