Mr. Perry Lee Jordan III's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Perry Lee Jordan III
On August 26, 1962, Perry Lee Jordan III was born in Dallas, Texas, to Shirley Mae Jordan Allen and Perry Lee Jordan Jr. Raised in the warm embrace of his family and faith, Perry grew up as an active member of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend C.B.T. Smith.
Known affectionately alongside his father as “Little Perry” to his father’s “Big Perry,” he served faithfully in the Youth Choir and Junior Deacon Board, beginning his lifelong service to others.
Perry attended N.W. Hallee Elementary, Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. High, and Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, where his love of music flourished in the Marching and Jazz Bands. After graduating in 1980, he attended Prairie View A&M University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While there, Perry was initiated into the Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., forging brotherhood bonds that would last his lifetime.
Perry began his professional career with Exxon in 1985, where his drive, talent, and vision quickly became evident. Recognizing his calling for entrepreneurship, he pursued his Master of Business Administration from Amber University while working full time. This spurred his involvement in the National Black MBA Association’s Houston Chapter, where he served in multiple leadership roles, contributing both personally and through corporate partnerships.
In the mid-1990s, following the Exxon-Mobil merger, Perry embraced a new chapter, joining McDonald’s Corporation and training at “Hamburger University” to become an owner-operator.
After hands-on training in Houston-area corporate stores, he purchased his first two McDonald’s restaurants in North Houston, later expanding to a third. His dedication, business acumen, and focus on people helped him thrive as a respected local businessman. Never one to stop learning or building, Perry earned his real estate license and worked as a realtor with Allstate, later expanding his business portfolio with the purchase of a Toasted Yolk restaurant.
Perry’s spiritual home for more than three decades was Brentwood Baptist Church, which he joined in 1991. Ordained a Deacon in 2008, he was deeply committed to his ministry, visiting the sick, praying with families, being a lead teacher in Sunday School Adult 25 Class, and serving on the Brentwood Credit Union Board. He also expressed his musical gifts by playing handbells with the Bronze Voices.
In December 2011, Perry’s life was forever changed when he met the love of his life, Dr. Felicia Jordan, on a blind date. Their marriage on January 18, 2013, marked the start of a life joined in love, friendship, and shared purpose. In July 2015, Perry and Felicia welcomed their greatest joys, twin daughters, Madison Elizabeth and Sydney Victoria. Fatherhood was one of Perry’s proudest roles, and he embraced it wholeheartedly.
On Thursday, July 31, Perry was called home to be with his Lord. His life was one of faith, perseverance, generosity, and love. Though his passing leaves a deep void, his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched. Perry was preceded in death by his father, Perry Lee Jordan Jr., and his mother, Shirley Mae Jordan Allen. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Felicia; his beloved daughters, Madison and Sydney; his sister-in-law Tia Young (Victor), his brother-in-law Robert Austin (April), father in-law John Austin; his aunt, Carol Stewart; nieces Taylor, Jordyn, Anita, Olivia, and Devin (Tampa, FL); cousins Emitt and Sheila Hill (DeSoto, TX), Allan Ray and Patricia Bernard (Dallas, TX), Marion Baker (Detroit, MI), Dwayne and Sharon Benson, Rita Hill Asbury, Yvonne and Roger Jackson, and Carol Ann Decker (Baton Rouge, LA); close friends Carlton Hayes, Martin Joseph III, Jackie and David Handy, Janet Sampson; and a host of other relatives, church members, fraternity brothers, and dear friends.
Perry’s life was a testament to hard work, service, and love. Those who knew him will remember his unwavering faith, generous heart, and deep devotion to his family. His light will continue to shine in his daughters and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to establish a scholarship in his honor to support a deserving college student.
