Mr. Paul “PJ” Lord, Jr. fought the good fight and now rests in the loving arms of our Lord.
Mr. Paul Alfred Ulysses Lord, Jr., affectionately known as "PJ," peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on March 13, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and friends at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Born on May 23, 1972, in Houston, Texas, PJ was the cherished eldest child of Joyce and Paul Lord, Sr. From a young age, he exhibited a vibrant spirit and a passion for life that touched everyone he met. PJ exuded a genuine love and acceptance that was felt and embraced by all that he encountered. With an extremely special bond he shared with his younger siblings, Amy and Matthew.
While attending college, PJ met the love of his life, Tameka Thompson. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful partnership, and they were married March13, 2004. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family, and were blessed with their beloved son, Paul Alfred Ulysses Lord, III.
In 2013, PJ and Tameka combined their talents and vision to establish Lord & Lord Designs, a testament to their shared ambition and creativity. The company became a reflection of their dedication to excellence and teamwork, leaving a legacy of innovation and inspiration.
PJ was a dedicated professional who served as an Administrative Supervisor in the City Controller’s Office. Outside of his career, he pursued his passions with vigor. He was an avid competitive cyclist, a determined boxer, and a health enthusiast, embodying perseverance and determination in all aspects of his life.
PJ's greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband, sibling, cousin, a devoted father, and a steadfast friend. He treasured moments spent with them all watching football and basketball, especially with his son, Paul III, who is currently excelling as a Junior at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. PJ’s life was a testament to kindness, determination, and the profound impact one person can have on others. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Whether he was advocating for the underdog, or rubbing elbows with the biggest celebrities and politicians in our city, his warmth, wisdom and unwavering love was felt by all. That love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents Paul and Joyce Lord, his siblings Matthew and Amy Lord, his loving wife Tameka Lord, his amazing son Paul Lord III, and his most supportive In-laws Samuel and Alice Thompson, as well as a host of cousins and friends.
