Mr. Lovett was great! I was in the NJROTC for only 1 year at Sterling in 84-85, and yet a positive impression of the firm yet caring man still endures to this day.
Mr. Lovett was tough but fair! Both he and his African Soup Bone will be missed.

Mr. Lovett was my instructor for all 3 years at Ross Shaw Sterling class of 83, who instilled so much value in his cadets. He was definitely a man of honor and courage, may you Rest In Peace.

Radioman 1st Class Ollie Lovett, U.S. Navy was my very close and much admired friend and associate NJROTC instructor at Ross Sterling High School HISD for more than 15 years. He was a firm disciplinarian, brought out the best in every student, and because of the love and devotion to his job, enabled thousands of young people the opportunity to enrich their lives. He earned my greatest respect and I shall miss him. Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth L Ammons, USMC (Ret. )
Mr. Lovett was my High School NJROTC instructor at Ross Sterling High School. He was a mentor and went out of his way to instill confidence in me. He taught me the importance of integrity, attention to detail and not importantly to respect and love myself. As a result of his dedication and support, I graduated from Ross Sterling High School and attended the United States Air Force Academy. I am now in the midst of entering my 20 year point serving my country in The USAF and I owe much of my achievements to the great start I had in High school with Mr. Lovett. Rest In Peace.

Rest in Heaven Mr Lovett ! Mr Lovett was my
Navy ROTC Teacher at Ross S.Sterling High School and taught us a lot and we learned a lot on discipline and being responsible and he made a great teacher.

Ollie,
Rest in Peace I only got to know you for a short time.
It was a blessing to meet you and know you in such a short time.
You made me laugh and smile each time I seen you.
Rest in the arms of our father in heaven.
Many Prayers to Family and Friends
Ollie, my dear friend, I know that you are now with our Heavenly Father and are no longer in the pain and suffering of your earthly body but are now in our destination, Heaven, where there is no more tears, sorrow and pain. As, that is true, it makes the memories of stories and a life shared as we shared with one another in our Saturday morning times of years ago more important and poignant.
Much love and many prayers, Sue Thibodeaux
Lord Jesus Christ,
by your own three days in the tomb,
you hallowed the graves of all who believe in you
and so made the grave a sign of hope
that promises resurrection
even as it claims our mortal bodies.
Grant that our brother, Ollie John Lovett, may sleep here in peace
until you awaken him to glory,
for you are the resurrection and the life.
Then he will see you face to face
and in your light will see light
and know the splendor of God,
for you live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
