RIP Bro! You will be truly be missed!
It’s hard to sum up the meaning of a friendship that has spanned over 38 years, but if there’s one thing I can say for certain, it’s that Mike Parson was someone who knew how to make life feel a little brighter, whether it’s a cloudy or rainy day.
I met Michael when we were both in the halls of Twin Lakes High School in West Palm Beach, FL. I can remember that day like it was yesterday — who would believe a big football player with an intimating personate would turn out to be a gentle giant with a big heart once you uncovered the layers; his laughter was contagious and his kindness was immediately evident in our high school years that transition into adulthood.
Over the years, Mike became a constant in my life, although we would go months without speaking, but when we did speak it was as if we never stopped communicating — whether for advice, a laugh, or a shoulder to lean on. He had this incredible ability to listen and offer support with his nonsense flare. It didn't matter if you were happy, sad, or somewhere in between; Mike was always there to input his prospective on any matter, or a joke that could turn any moment into one filled with light.
I will never forget the way he made everything feel just a little more bearable when GOD called my mother to heaven; Mike called and just reflected on our high school memories to the point we were both laughing uncontrollably, it’s those memories that will stay with me forever.
Though we’ve been through decades of life’s ups and downs, one thing remained unchanged: Mike's heart was big, full of love for his son Mike Jr and his family with Camiel.
.
Today, I say so long my friend but all the memories will continue to live on. I will carry them in my heart. It’s never easy to see someone leave who has been such an integral part of your life’s journey, but I find comfort in knowing that my friend Mr. Michael E Parson will always be with all who knew him — in our stories, in our laughter, and in the love that continues to surround us because of his existence on this earth. Heaven has gained a gentle giant!!!
I would like to give GOD a thanksgiving offering for blessing me with a friendship in the person of Mike for over 38 years; he may no longer be here in person, but his spirit will forever live on in all of us who had the privilege of calling him our friend. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will never be forgotten.
And Camiel, thank you for your love and support you gave Mike; as I mentioned to you over the phone. I am so grateful for you being in his life and standing by his side when he needed it the most. May GOD continue to bless and comfort you is my prayers for you and your family.
Clareece Patrick, a friend for life.....Twin Lakes class of 88
Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “Jesus plainly told her: I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.
