Maudell Arnold Berry passed away from this earthly life surrounded by love on June 22, 2020 in Houston, TX. Maudell was born on March 31, 1929 in Eagleville, TN to the late Frank Tyree Arnold and Eva Maude Holford Arnold.
Maudell graduated from Pearl High School in Nashville, TN. She also attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN and Texas Southern University in Houston, TX. She retired from North Forest Independent School District with thirty-five years of service to the youth.
Maudell enjoyed cooking, reading, videography and spending time with her family. Family and friends often looked forward to gathering at 1717 Blodgett where Maudell would cook delicious foods such as collard greens, cornbread dressing and fried catfish. Maudell was known for her hospitable, humorous, stern and compassionate personality. She was a member at South Union Church of Christ in Houston, TX where she served as the church librarian and videographer for several years. Through her battle with her declining health, Maudell remained faithful to God, and the strength and resilience she exemplified is a great testament to others.
Maudell was preceded in death by her mother Eva Arnold; father, Frank Arnold; husband of thirty-one years, Andrew Berry and her baby sister; Frusie Doris Ross.
She leaves to cherish her fondest of memories: five devoted children; Alfonso Berry of Houston, TX, Reginald Berry (Cheryl) of Killeen, TX, Anthony Berry of Houston, TX, Julian Berry of Houston, TX and devoted cargiver, Andrea Berry of Houston, TX; eleven loving grandchildren; Joseph Berry of Waco, TX, Chavarria Berry of Houston, TX, Julian (Brandy) Taylor of Moody Air Force Base, Jermaine Taylor of Denver, CO, Philip (Charna) Berry of Patrick Air Force Base, James Berry of Houston, TX, Eboni Berry of Houston, TX, Kimberly Berry of Killeen, TX, Matthew Berry of Houston, TX, Andrew Berry of Houston, TX and Sheree Berry of Houston, TX; nine great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her dearly.
