Dr. Matthew was a family friend of my parents and always treated me as a daughter. I never took his class, but I would always pass his office on my way to see my father and spoke. Every time, he greeted me with a huge smile and spoke as if he hadn’t seen me in years and would hand me $20. He would always say “ tell your father I gave that to you”. I started to drop by regularly lol. Each time, he gave me $20 and did and said the same thing. Thank you for the years of your care.

I will never forget Dr. Uwakonye. He was one of the most humorous and kindest souls that I have met. I had the pleasure of working with him in the College of Business at Grambling State University, and his smile, intelligence, and grace was infectious. Although he is no longer with us, he will forever be an integral part of Grambling State University's College of Business.
