Mr. Leonard Samuel Harrison's Obituary
Leonard Samuel Harrison age 72 was born August 29, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of Charles Harrison, Sr and Evelyn Harrison. He departed this life August 23, 2024 at Colfax Nursing Home in Colfax, Louisiana of natural causes. Leonard was a student of the New Orleans Public Schools where he attended Walter L. Cohen Senior High School.
He is the loving brother of Cherlyn Butler and Landa Harrison. He was proceeded in death by his father, Charles Harrison, Sr., his mother Evelyn Harrison and his brother Charles Harrison, Jr.
Leonard was a comedian is his own way; always making his family laugh with cynical sayings then after thinking about those saying laughing at them himself. He loved spending the holidays with his family and looked forward to every round trip to be with them during the holiday seasons.
He was also a diehard Saints fan but whenever in Houston; he was also a Texans fan (unless they played his Saints that is). In addition to his love for football he loved basketball as well and can call just about every play!
His hobby was word search puzzles (in JUMBO PRINT) and solving complicated math problems. He was simply a “wizkid” when it came to numbers. In addition to his hobbies, he also had favorite dishes; New Orleans Style Red Beans and Rice and New Orleans Style Fried Oysters, and “Grits made like momma use to make”!
Leonard is survived by his sisters, Cherlyn Butler and Landa Harrison, a generation of
nieces and nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives and dear family friends.
