I met Joe at a donut shop back in 1983 and we drank coffee every morning and instantly became my friend and we stayed friends until his passing.He always had a magnetic personality and was always smiling no matter how things were going. Gonna miss the fun ,laughs and the morning meetings at the donut shop.See you on the other side my Friend,Love you Man,Rest peacefully in Heaven!!!!!
Joe was my neighbor at Floral Gardens and a very nice man. We spoke casually coming and going and the news of his death really hit me hard. I pray that he is resting peacefully in Heaven with the Lord's Angles.
To his family may God give you the time to grieve and peace of knowing he is resting and free of pain.
So much to say but i want you to know this Uncle Joe I will truly miss you so much you were an inspiration to us all. I Love you dearly we all did and do. Rest easy and give all the family a hug for us we know you are shining down on us . This hurts me so so much . If only the family understood this pain I'm feeling. I love you and I will see you one day love your Great Nephew Terard.

Tuesdays…. Tuesdays, every single week for more than 13 years. That is the day Joe came to work on our yard and make it beautiful. He always had a huge smile on his face and asked how we were doing. He often wore his Tulane sweatshirt and talked about all of his family from Houston to NOLA. He also talked about how much he loved his barbecue! 😀 And he sure did love all of his children and grandchildren and nephews and nieces, and cousins. He talked about them all the time. He was so kind and so generous and loved his job. We will miss him so very, very much. -The Hirshfeld Family
