I kept a big poster of Mr Johnny Nash in my dorm in Nursing School in Pontypridd South Wales UK. I loved his music. He was a great inspiration to me. “ I can see clearly now, the rain is gone” was my favorite song.

Family from the Bedikope Village in Ghana, where Cedric and Sh’Nay Ballard have citizenship deeply mourns with the Nash/ Collins Family. They have offered sincere condolences and shared a tribute video. Uncle Johnny is well known and appreciated in Ghana and they have been some of his biggest fans for years!

My sincere condolences to John Lester's family. I grew up with "Johnny" on Reeves street, sang with him in the youth choir at church, and went to Jack Yates with him. My family knew his mother, father, and sister, Dorothy. Although I left Houston after high school, I often remembered the kind and talented John Lester Nash, Jr. I mourn in his loss with his wife, children and sister. May God's light shine clearly on you.

It is with deep sadness from my heart for the passing of John.I find myself trying to express how my family and I feel about him. Not only a great entertainer but an even greater person and friend has left us. I met John through my son and his wife when my grandchildren were at Mount Carmel attending school. When he came to visit, the house just got happier.God father to my granddaughter, and a terrific role model always there if needed. I find it hard to believe he is gone. My family will truly miss him. Go with God. Our condolences to Carlie, and the kids.

My sympathy to all. My grandmother, Laurence Stutes, lived down the street from Johnny Nash on Martindale.
One day he came to sing to her. He was amazing and so kind. I’m tearing up as I recall those memories. I believe his arena was on Madden Road. A girl I used to work with loved horses and knew where his arena was also, even though she lived on the north side of Houston. In my eyes he will always be remembered for his music and kindness.
