John Allen, as we called him, because there is also a John Ronald among the cousins, John was much older by adolescent terms and considered himself too grown to play with us. Except when a "boogyman" was the role required. He would go to outstanding tactics to scare the living daylights out of anyone bold enough to be willing to participate and the chase was on until John said so and not one scream was left inside us! I was so much fun...for John. I miss his charm, sarcastic wit and sometimes arrogance.
