So sorry to hear of our friends passing. Know that Jim is in God's hands. I will miss my friend as we shared many memories playing with the Colt ,45's ,& the Houston Astros. Jim was a good person & a friend, he will truly be missed. "What a player he was". Our sympathy goes out to the entire Wynn family.

Jimmy Wynn shall forever be remembered as one of the first and one of the greatest stars for the Houston Cot .45s and Houston Astros. While noted primarily for his prodigious power, he could also electrify fans and followers of the game with his base running and defensive skills.
I first met Jimmy in 1959-60 when Jimmy was a high school star in Cincinnati and I was working for the Reds and helped coordinate workouts for the local prospects at Crosley Field. Jimmy ultimately signed with the Reds, but I was pleased when the Colt .45s were able to acquire his contract after his first season in pro ball. Jimmy quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the shining lights in the early days of the franchise. I will forever cherish my association with Jimmy and hope when this current coronavirus is stilled that there will be an opportunity for a memorial service for Jimmy so that his legion of friends and fans may pay proper tribute.

I was a kid from South Texas (Kingsville), and the Astros was my favorite team. You were one of the greatest Astros player; you played along side Cesar Cedeno, Denis Meneke, Roger Metzger, Joe Morgan, Larry Dierker, Don Wilson, etc. You guys also struggled, but I would also listen to games on KSIX and hear the games with Loel Passe,
I remember going to the Astrodome in 1970 and sitting in the Pavilion, because tickets were only 50 cents and 1.50 for adults.
