Mrs. Irma C. Buford's Obituary
Irma C. Buford, a devoted educator, loving mother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on April 10, 2025 in Houston, Texas. She was born on February 9, 1928, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Wattie T. Cole and Beatrice Cole. Irma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Edward Tipton Buford Jr. She is survived by her three sons, Dr. Edward Tipton Buford III, Dr. Reginald Cole Buford, and Gordon Leroy Buford; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry forward her legacy of love, learning, and kindness.
A morning visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, 10 AM - 11 AM, at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary in Houston, Texas. A service to honor and celebrate Irma’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11 AM at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following service, she will be entombed beside her husband.
