My name is Julia Sam Maddox. I remember growing up in Bay you Park, Smith Addition , Broadway, Projects, you get it. Well, this was one of my second Dads growing up. When I was growing up. Where I grew up everyone took care of everybody’s children. Mr. Herbert was always there giving us children in the neighborhood directions and guidance. He was very strict. Firm in his words. Always sharing his wisdom to the kids all around. Very good man to all of us. Telling Charles, Herbert, Gary, and Robin his children also to always obey and do the right things. He was always there helping us fix our bicycles. I really appreciate all that leadership skills that was taught by Mr. Herbert telling me and others, or by watching him in action. Mrs. Cora Mae was always baking and cooking something delicious. Family is everything. Family we will miss him. I pray that God will comfort everyone’s heart. I love you all. God bless in wonderful name of Jesus Christ Amen.
