Mr. Gregory A. Johnson's Obituary
Gregory A. Johnson, 68, of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
Born on April 19, 1958 in Racine, WI to Edward and Mattie Lee Johnson, he attended Washington Park High School. After a long and exemplary career in the United States Air Force, he worked as a Corrections Officer at Beauford H. Jester III Unit. He loved watching and rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks, GreenBay Packers, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks as well asowning Native American art, collecting CB radios, and listening to old school music in the form of vinyl records.
He is survived by his wife, Olga (Houston, TX), children, Natassia and Gregory (Houston, TX), and grandson, Julius (Pearland, TX). He is also survived by his siblings: Jaqueline (“Jackie”) Oliver (Atlanta, GA), Bryant (“Kent”) and wife Brenda Johnson (Vallejo, CA), Michael Johnson and husband Elliot Jackson (Atlanta, GA), Margaret Love (Katy, TX), Janice (“Pokey”) and husband Roosevelt Overton (Pearland, TX), Linda (“Faye”) and husband Les Higgenbottom (Racine, WI), Brenda Fortune (Atlanta, GA), and Edwina and husband KeithGreen (Enterprise, MS) and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mattie Lee Johnson, and brother, James Edward Johnson.
