Mr. George Brown Jr.'s Obituary
1925-2017
George Brown Jr was born on April 22, 1925, to the late George Brown and Lottie Carroll in Kingsport, TN.
He went to Douglass High School in Kingsport, TN. After graduating high school George joined the Navy and served in World War II.
Once George was home from war he went on to further his education at Tennessee State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. While attending Tennessee State, he played football and met his late wife Bobbye Jean Valentine Brown.
He loved to learn so he continued his education journey by earning his Masters from Butler University while working at the post office. George went on to become an educator and coach in the Indianapolis Public School District. He taught at school 42 and Crispus Attucks, while at Crispus Attucks he coached track and field and football. In 1972, George became the head football coach at Arlington High School. He retired in 1985.
George Brown Jr., is survived by his three children Marcia C. Brown, George V. Brown III, and Dana C. Brown; three grandchildren Nikki C. Brown, George P. Brown IV, and Stephen C. Brown; one great grandchild Evelyn H. Brown; and a host of relatives and friends.
Absent from The Body Present with The Lord Our Beloved George Brown Jr Alpha - April 22, 1925 Omega - Nov 29, 2017. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Rose Chapel of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary, Friday, December 8, 2017, 11:00 AM. His wife, Bobbye J Brown and brother, Wyn Brown preceded him in death.
