Mrs. Elvira Foote Jones passed away in her home in Somerville, Texas, Wednesday, September 23rd at 11:28 PM.
Mrs. Jones led an active and exceptionally fulfilling life. She was the co-owner of Jones Cleaners and Laundry, Houston, Tx and Food Mart Convenience Store, Bryan, Tx. She served as precinct judge for Sunnyside Civic Club Houston, Tx. and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She learned at an early age that there was Victory in Jesus! She was a co-founder of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Houston, Tx. She served as an usher at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, College Station, Tx and was a pastoral counsel, St. Ann Church, Somerville, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept 29th at 10:00 AM, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, College Station, Tx.
Interment will be Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pearland, Tx.
Visitation will be today, Monday, September 28th from 1:00 to 8:00 PM in the Rose Chapel of the Mabrie Memorial Mortuary. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family at 6:00 PM.
The recital of the rosary is scheduled for 6:15 PM.
Her memories will be dearly cherished by her daughters and sons, Elaine J. Phillips (Samuel), Jo Ann J. Burbridge (Oliver), Eli Jones III (Fern) and Kirk N. Jones (Erin); 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Mr. Eli Jones Jr.
