Sis. Earlie M. Burnett's Obituary
Earlie Mae Burnett transitioned to her heavenly home peacefully, quietly, and confidently at Kindred Hospital Medical Center (Houston) on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 6:18pm. She was surrounded by her son, three sisters, and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Earlie Mae was gifted life on September 09, 1933, in Huntsville, Texas. She was the third of eleven children born to her God-loving parents Earl “Brown” and Lillie Mae (Ross) Burnett. She was influenced by her parents to be a loving and caring woman, giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into her adulthood. She treasured growing up with her large family, helping on the farm, and going to school and church.
Earlie Mae grew up worshipping and praising God at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville where she was an active member and sang in the choir. When she left Huntsville to move to Houston, she joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she served over 25 years as a faithful member under the pastoral ship of the late Rev. D. Leon Everett, II. She subsequently joined the Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.J. Roberson and continued her membership under the leadership of current pastor, Rev. Dr. Max A. Miller, where she has been a member for over 40 years. In addition, over the years, she loved to regularly visit New Faith Church (Rev. Dr. T.R. Williams, Pastor Emeritus, and Rev. Dr. Andre J. Lewis, current pastor), where her son is a member. New Faith looked upon her as an honorary member; a designation she cherished.
Earlie Mae was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her only child, Dr. Rondell (Ronnie Earl) Bailey, and embraced every moment with him. He is so precious to her and loving him was the success story of her life.
Earlie Mae Burnett was truly a great woman and a marvelous example of Christian discipleship. Her impact will be forever felt by all who knew and loved her. Her life was well-pleasing to The Lord and one worthy of emulating, as we celebrate her Homegoing this day.
