Dennis was a long time friend. Though I lived in Louisiana and he was in Texas, we met through work when he worked for a real estate appointment service. From the very beginning of the years when he would answer our calls, all of us Realtors could always count on receiving amazing customer service from him.
My office invited him to our Christmas Party one year and Dennis took the Greyhound bus overnight so he could attend. From our first face-to-face meeting, Dennis and I remained close friends.
He loved to tell stories of his ancestors, his love of his church, and some of the silliest jokes ever known to man. He had a wonderful sense of humor, an enormous heart and compassion for others and always strived to be a good person in the eyes of his Lord.
Dennis suffered tremendously throughout his life, both emotionally with the loss of countless family members he dearly loved as well as physically as he lived in constant pain from many ailments. Through all of his pain, Dennis still put on a brave face and trudged forward.
Life on Earth was not easy for Dennis. May his life in the hereafter be full of peace, love, and happiness. Dennis will be greatly missed by many who truly loved him.
