I first met Chrissy at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Houston 42 years ago. I was undergoing catechism and Chris became my self appointed Catholic mentor. She had the most beautiful voice. I met Rene a few months later when he came to visit Chris. One day when she was working, I was assigned the duty of keeping him entertained. I'm sure he was terribly bored but, he was a good sport about it. As part of my Catholic training, Chrissy took me to a synagogue. It was a truly eye opening experience. One that I have never forgotten. I don't think anyone else would have thought to take a new catholic to a synagogue, to show the connection to our church, or even know what to do when. But that was Chrissy for you, and she knew exactly what to do and when. Chrissy was a daily Mass attendee and she was one of the reasons that I became a daily Mass attendee. She introduced me to her mother and her twin Cathy. She, Rene, and Cathy took me on my very first snow ski vacation. They were very good friends. We lost touch for a few years when I moved back to Cocoa, Florida. But a few years ago we reconnected, and even though I was in Florida and she was in Texas, we spoke on the phone almost every other day. She could not wait to get back to attending Mass. She was not only a faithful person, but a very spiritual person. She was funny, smart and witty. She loved her church, Rene, Cathy, and her boys, Christopher and Evan. She is and will be missed. Even now, I awake and can't believe she won't be on the other end of the phone. So I talk to her and Cathy anyway, we just don't need a phone now. I ask them to pray for us all. Love and condolences to Rene, Christopher and Evan. Dianne
