Mr. Charles A. Robertson Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Alex Robertson, Jr., affectionately known as “Bobboe,” peacefully entered eternal rest on March 22, 2026. Born on July 12, 1964, Charles was a man of deep faith, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family.
A native of New Orleans, Charles, was educated at Our Lady of Lourdes and graduated from John F. Kennedy Senior High School. He earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Phillips College and furthered his studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. For many years, he was a familiar, welcoming face as a Bellman at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Charles relocated to Texas, where he built a distinguished 18-year career as a Lead Processor for SLB. A devoted servant of God, he was a faithful member and usher at Newlands Church, living his life with the firm belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Known as the family historian, Charles held the stories of his lineage close to his heart. He was the bridge between generations and a reliable pillar of strength for those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Taylor Robertson and Charles Alex Robertson, Sr.; his grandmothers, Rev. Alma Bell Taylor Shaw and Mrs. Ethel Robertson; his brother Stephen Taylor; his aunts, Selma James, Roseana Taylor, and Rosemary Taylor; and his uncle, William Taylor.
His memory will be cherished by his former wife, Tanya Newman; his siblings, Ricky Taylor (Donna), Jocelyn Johnson (Ernest), and Insygleton Taylor (Shante); his godchildren, Danielle Ellis and Terron Bell; his nieces, Sherice Clark (Alfred), Racheal Taylor, TaeJeanne Taylor-Lawrence (Troy), Stephanie Briscoe (Eric), Elizabeth Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, and Aisha Gros; his nephews, Frankie Pilot, Van Scott, Jr., Chad Johnson (JoNae), Cory Russell (Ruth), Jonathan Hughes (Latoya), Steven Fernandez and Kevin Fernandez (Darrlyneisha); and a devoted host of cousins, and friends. Charles loved his family deeply and was always there when needed. While he will be truly missed, we find comfort in knowing that though we loved him, God loved him more.
