My family is related to Bernadine through her mother Catherine Bolden. My great grandmother Irene was born in Huntsville. Her ancestors are Abe Bolden.

Professor Oliphant was my voice teacher and mentor while I attended Texas Southern University and made an imprint on my life that still is imbedded in my heart today. Because of her caring and concern for my academic and personal life I am the better for it.
Her coaching and smile will be greatly missed.
