Arthur Earl Ransom
May 20, 1947 - October 21, 2022
Arthur attended local Houston schools and graduated from Kashmere High School in 1965. He served in the military from 1969 to 1975. He then had a long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) before retiring. After some rest and relaxation he began a career as a corporate security officer. He retired a second time in 2021.
Arthur made it a point to watch out for baby sister Pat as she went through chemo with breast cancer, then heart attack and stroke, while offering advice and words of wisdom for Dena.
Arthur was ill off and on most of 2021. He received pancreatic cancer diagnosis, along with COPD on Friday, October 14, 2022. He was gone a week later on October 21, 2022. He will forever be in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his mother Wyncie Gilmer Thompson and brother Gilbert Thompson. Arthur is survived by his siblings Dena Crecy and Patricia Manning, nephews Eric Thompson, Sean Crecy, Charles Manning and niece Sydney Crecy as well as great nephews Jaden Esco, Kayson Crecy and great niece Penelope Joiner.
Visitation will be prior to service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary on Monday, October31, 2022. A private graveside service will be held at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterens Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038 at 1:15 p.m.
