1953-2016
She fought a good fight, she has finished the race, she kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7 In affectionate remembrance of our mother, we celebrate and give thanks. The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, August 20th, 10:00 AM at Covenant Glen United Methodist Church - 3663 Westcenter Dr., Houston, Texas 77042. We welcome our extended family and friends to join us. The Omega Omega Service presented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is scheduled for 9:00 AM. Visitation will commence at 9:30 AM. In addition to her daughters, Erica and Stacy Chavis, their mother leaves her siblings, Jacqueline Barber, Brenda Kidd and William Kidd and many other dear relatives and friends. Her husband, Melvin Horace Chavis, parents, Finell Kidd and Estella Buchanan and brother, Curtis Kidd preceded her in death.
