Words can’t express the way I feel about this woman. We work beside each other for fifteen years. Every Christmas and definitely Every birthday celebration we share how we felt for one another. I’m saddened to say I miss her. After Algerita retirement we didn’t keep in touch as much, but we still remain friends. We both love the blues, and we definitely tried to make almost every concert featured Mel Waiters. You are now resting in peace. Until we meet again. My prayers are with the Family. Always keep in mind Our God Makes No Mistakes.

To Wendy my deepest sympathies for you lost.
I meet Algerita over 50 years ago, when my family moved on Pederson street, and we’ve been friends since then. Doing the year's our lives may have taken different past, but we always kept in touch, in fact we recently had a discussion on who called who the most. If it’s any consolation, there is one thing I know, besides the fact that she loved you, your sister, her grandson, and the rest of her family. Is she knew how to be a friend, and will be missed and grieved by many.

It was a sincere pleasure to meet Algerita in 1976 at St. Luke’s Hospital. We both worked in the Operating Room and were locker mates. I will always remember and treasure or friendship. She was always encouraging and supportive of me and my family. Those days were sometimes long and hard; but having Algerita as part of the “Team” made it enjoyable.
Rest in the arms of the Lord.
