Al Hagan, my dear friend and tennis buddy of many years, I'm misty-eyed at this very moment reflecting your/our memories. You were a proud, private, considerate, thoughtful, generous, compassionate human being. I'm going to miss the many laughs we shared and the wisdom you imparted. The older we got, the longer our conversations. I had no idea that seeing you at Kroger this past September would be the last; had no idea that our conversation March 3rd, would be our last, and that you would leave us the day after Easter with a void and emptiness that cannot be replaced. You're not "above ground" anymore as would be your opening greeting to me, "Larry-O.". However, you're in a much better place that is more befitting of the person I knew you to be. Rest in prayer, my friend!! Larry York
To the Family of My Good Friend Alfred, who always remembered all of his Classmates by name and nickname, at Most Pure Heart of Mary High School, Mobile, AL. Class of 1957. Let us give thanks for this Good Soul who Touch the Lives of so Many. Hoping Your Faith will give you comfort at this time of sadness.
My Deepest Sympathy.
Sincerely Celestine M Thomas
May you rest in perfect peace! Heaven gained an angel and a great tennis player. Tracie and Gregory Smith.
I am so sorry to hear about Alfred. He was a great friend to my brother and always kept in touch with us. You have my deepest sympathy.
Al was a genuine and very likeable person. Always witty and kind. An excellent effective unorthodox tennis player-LOL. I will definitely miss him and his many pop-up visits to New Orleans to play tennis with George and the other players. Al knew everyone and their tennis games!! It was my pleasure to have shared so many memories with him, especially at Luby's! May he rest in peace and our memories of him will live forever! Much love, Carla Gibson Baker
