Don’s many years of dedicated service to the City of Houston in the Labor, Employment & Civil Service (LECS) Section left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him. His integrity, leadership, guidance, and kindness will always be remembered. His presence brightened our team, and his contributions will continue to resonate with us.
We will deeply miss his laughter, his wisdom, and his steady presence. May you find comfort and peace during this difficult time, and may his legacy continue to inspire all of us in LECS.
To Don’s family, please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I had the privilege of working with Don for 28 years in the City Legal Department. He was always warm, friendly, and kind—always ready to help with a problem or offer thoughtful advice. I used to joke with him not to donate his clothes, but to give them to me when he was done with them—even if I’d need to have them altered by six or seven inches. No matter how many times I said it, he would always laugh.
Don was a good, good man, and I wish him Godspeed on his heavenly journey. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.

Such a small world a cousin was married to an HT alum and I was attempting to introduce her to Ronald and Donald during Alumni. All three let me know they been rolling since Worthing. Fast forward my son worked VIP HLSR and informed me Mr. Ronald and Mr. Donald's brother hired him. I attended service when Donald lead a service as a lay minister. So glad his niece influenced me to attend. For me Donald unabashly showing a love for his faith inspired me.
