I met Tameka in 10th grade Spanish class. She stood out because of her bold and courageous spirit. As I got to know her, I saw that her heart was pure gold and her sense of humor was out of this world. She carried a sense of self-assurance and confidence that’s hard to put into words.
Our paths crossed again years later, and she still had that go-getter attitude—even in the midst of battle.
Thank you for being the marvelous and inspiring person you were.

My sincerest and deepest condolences to her family and friends. I worked with Tameka @ Hearne Elementary for 10+ years. For me, to know her is to love her. I thank God for the years we worked in partnership to educate students and help many families. Not only were we colleagues, but we forged a friendship. Shared a lot of laughs w/her as well as some of life's challenges. I am thankful for the opportunity to have crossed paths with her. May my colleague and friend rest in peace. Love ya, Tameka. ❤️💔🙏🏽
