Justin addressed any concerns I had and also followed up with me thereafter several times .The service was ecstatic and exceptional my mother definitely would have been proud of me. Also I got 3 necklaces made with my mother fingerprint that I wear to this day. I did so well I’m forever grateful for this staff and especially Justin. I definitely recommend a 10 star not a 5. You would have to had the experience of the staff to understand what I mean. Even to the gravesite, he arranged a horse and carriage. God knew who to place in my life, in my time of need .

Although I do not experience the passing of a loved one often, I can’t think my bereavement journey going any smoother. As my family’s thoughts and planning were incoherent, the professionals at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary made the whole process easier to navigate. Justin and Cynthia were there all the way, consoling and offering comforting words of encouragement and inspiration, which I was not expecting. Mabrie Memorial Mortuary is a beautiful facility. The staff is so friendly and supportive during a period when you need that type of comfort. The directors do an excellent job and the presentation is above anything you would expect or imagine. The attention to detail is outstanding. I definitely recommend when their services are required.

Extremely professional. Obviously, the need for a mortuary means that something sad has happened and a loved one has been lost, but their staff is very sympathetic, respectful, and supportive for navigating those challenges. Mabrie Memorial Mortuary handled the arrangements for my father's death in 2015, and our family didn't hesitate to use Mabrie again in 2023 for my mother. Highly recommended!

Mabrie Memorial Mortuary was truly a blessing to our family. From our initial contact with Justin, we felt reassured that he had everything under control, and he absolutely did. Justin and his staff were extremely professional and compassionate throughout the entire process. They made sure all of the details were handled with the highest degree of professionalism. From the military honors to the travel to Louisiana, they made sure all bases were covered. I would also like to mention that I loved Mabrie’s individualized / personal touches. We experienced so much compassion and care here! Everyone was very tender with us and even the smallest details were handled thoroughly and with such professionalism. We had a Memorial in the sanctuary and it was more than we could have expected. They took care of EVERYTHING and helped make the experience beautiful! I do not have enough words to express my sincere gratitude and thankfulness for the experience of professionalism and care for my family during these difficult times. My mother and father passed away within 4 months of each other. I really couldn't believe I was back at the funeral home yet again. Ms. Hazel was a complete God send in preparing my mother for her services. She really looked beautiful. My dad looked great as well. Justin took care of details as gracious as possible. I truly recommend this funeral home above anyone else. The care of the flowers was truly remarkable and exceptional. My parents' services were beautiful. The BEST experience! When I lost my Dad, it was so hard. Justin was there within the hour. The care, compassion, and empathy was so overwhelmingly comforting. The days that followed, I received reminders of what to accomplish each day, not to mention the day he passed, I was asked to please try and live in the moment, not worrying about the days to come. It was the most comforting experience. To feel like someone really cared in those dark hours and was willing to be in charge to help my family get through such a difficult time! The professionalism and attention to details we did not consider were attended to in a way that was pleasing and showed much regard for my Daddy and our family❤️ Justin and Mabrie funeral services were outstanding in helping my family and I just get through the days. I grew up in the community of 3rd Ward Houston, Texas and can say that I am proud to be able to support such a well established, family owned neighborhood businesses that truly provides compassionate, and professional services from the heart. I recently had the occasion of using Mabrie Memorial Mortuary for the funeral of my great aunt, who was 95 years old and passed away while living in Texas. One of the things that impressed me most about Mabrie Memorial Mortuary was their ability to prepare us with all of the necessary information and support during my great aunt's hospice care. In addition, they also provided excellent relocation services and managed all of the logistics of transporting my great aunt’s remains back to her home state of Alabama. Funeral Director, Justin Mabrie and his staff were extremely helpful and efficient in handling all of the necessary paperwork and made the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for my family. The funeral home itself was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. As well, the unique collection of healing art displayed throughout the facility added a sense of solace during our bereavement. The paintings, sculptures, and other works of art added a healing touch of beauty and inspiration to the space. I was struck by the connection and care put into curating the collection from local artist with in the Houston community. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the services provided by Mabrie Memorial Mortuary. They truly went above and beyond to make a difficult time a little easier for our family. At our darkest hour, while planning the funeral for our 2 year old granddaughter, Mabrie came to our aid. The care and consideration shown to us was more like an extended family than we ever expected. The professionalism and accommodations made, allowed us to celebrate Lil Scout Delilah in our special way. The staff exhibited decades of experience and excellence in every way. My son Salih El-Amin transitioned in spirit on May 21st. I had never had to or expected to do anything of this sort for my child in my lifetime and was basically numb in and out the process. Brother Justin was like a personal escort to me and the family from start to finish. We had his undivided attention and his total respect over our decisions from start to finish. His service to us, his staff, the place ( the Chapel) were all impeccable. He was with us (the family) through out. He never turned us over to an ‘assistant’. Justin carried us and cared for us the entire time. It’s been almost a week since my family and I said our final goodbyes to my father. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of individuals to help assist with my dad's service. I don’t know where to start because every step of the way leading up to the service was flawless. I would have imagined planning a funeral from Mississippi to Texas would have been a headache but it was the complete opposite. Justin was my point of contact throughout the entire process. He was thorough, patient, and confident. He made sure that after every conversation that I had a clear understanding of the process and everything that I needed for the service. There was not one question left that wasn’t answered! And I truly appreciate that because the good Lord knows I had questions lol. Especially being my first time having to plan a funeral for a parent of mine. Even though, Justin was my point of contact. I got a chance to interact with some of the other staff members. Over the phone, I was able to interact with Ms. Tiffany a few times. She has to be one of the sweetest ladies I know! Every time I called, she always had a warm welcome and always ready to point me in the right direction! I love the fact that she always followed up with a phone call to make sure that I had the proper documents and updated me with answers to any questions she might have been unsure about at that given moment. Then there’s Mr. Rhan. I didn’t meet him until the day before the funeral when I arrived in Texas! He was amazing! Professionalism on 1000. He was patient, compassionate, and attentive to my family and my needs. He made sure to give us anything that we needed from coffee, water, soda, candy, cookies, tissue, etc. He was our guy for sure! He was the same way the day of the funeral. Overall the staff was amazing! There was another guy that helped with the service I briefly spoke with. I didn’t catch his name the day of the funeral, he was sweet. I made sure that I was added to his prayer list once the service was over. The establishment in itself was super clean and airy. They didn’t have that typical funeral scent ( that was a plus plus plus). They had some amazing paintings that caught my eye. I didn't get a chance to look at all of them but the ones that I did pay attention to were beautiful. Also, Mr.Rhan gave us some pretty cool insight into Mabrie’s family legacy and current accomplishments. I’m truly in awe and forever thankful that this experience with Mabrie was amazing! Highly recommended.

I can not begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for Mabrie Mortuary. In October, I was faced with the heartbreaking task of burying my brother. From the first call to Justin and staff, they begin to put things in motion that I was not ready to deal with. From meeting me in my home to sign documents to working with the cemetery to make sure he was buried near my mother, they gave extra care to the smallest details. I loved that everything was able to be taken care of in house, and I only had to deal with Justin. He was kind and compassionate with every call and text. My brother’s services was beautiful. During this extremely difficult time, Mabrie Mortuary gave us EXCELLENT Service. Nor myself or my husband ever had to do anything this hard. This was our first time going through making arrangements to lay a family member to rest. Justin and the team at Mabrie definitely lightened the load! From start to finish the services were Top-Notch. We literally told them what we wanted and my Uncle’s going home services were executed perfectly! Our only job was to show up. The services were beautiful and the live stream allowed all of our loved ones who were away to still be present. Their timing was impeccable and everything went as planned. Mabrie went above and beyound of what I expected for my mother's funeral services. Justin was professional from the beginning to the end. He displayed great care and empathy for my family. This was my first time having to handle burial services and I know at times I was not in my right mind at times with so much grief and trying to hold it together for my family. Justin walked us through the process with ease. The service was one of the most beatiful service's I've seen and my mother looked peaceful and so very beautiful. The balloon ceremony was a great touch to end the service. Justin has since checked on my family to see how we were doing. I recommend Mabrie to anyone who wants a professional and loving atmosphere to say their goodbyes to a family member.

Wow, what can I say about Mabrie's service? Excellent, Exceptional, Outstanding. are just a few words that come to mind! When my husband passed suddenly, I was devastated. I called Mabrie to handle the services. Not only did they meet my expectations for the perfect service, they actually exceeded my expectations. They provided me information in clear, and accurate terms and I truly felt that was one less thing I had to worry about in the planning of the service. Every thing was direct and straight forward, i had no undue surprises from start to finish. Justin and Ms. Jones, in fact the whole team was there to assist me through out the whole process. Everyone was very knowledgeable and professional, yet also caring and compassionate during this difficult time in my life. Even when I mis-communicated the approved pallbearers and none were available, they stepped in to handled the situation flawlessly. I love the African-American bible they gave, it has given me some inspiration in researching my family history and leaving a living legacy for my present and future heirs. My little sister passing was unexpected and devastating. I am a licensed Funeral Director, which meant I was expected to handle things. I chose Mabrie because I knew they would take my families vision for her homegoing celebration and elevate it. The cost was very efficient, the service beyond elegant and the accommodations during Covid 19 were amazing to say the least. Ariana Harris and Justin Mabrie were patient, attentive, and FAMILY to us. They took the most difficult time in my moms, siblings and I lives and made it not only bearable but a celebration to remember. They took care of her hair, makeup and favorite color themes and all we had to do was show up to see a peacefully asleep loved one. Due to their efforts we were able to rejoice in the midst of our pain, relax in the middle of our stressful endeavor and most of all have peace during a time of turmoil. We are forever indebted to the work and effort put into making this entire experience one that will not have been such a tribute of love anywhere else. At a time when I was in deep sadness & very vulnerable, I wanted to know I could depend on the funeral home I selected to provide guidance & expertise (not pressure). I have no words that will adequately describe how warm & cared for the people at Mabrie made me feel...from my 1st contact with them, to the final moments at the gravesite. Amazingly, they were able to accomplish this while simultaneously ensuring the individuality of my loved one was impeccably represented in every detail. My family has used their services for not one but two members, my grandmother in June 2019 and uncle in December 2019. Cynthia, Justin and the entire staff took their time and were extremely patient, understanding, helpful and caring in their handling of our services. We had a traditional burial for my grandmother and everything was handled from top to bottom, services went off without a hitch. We had an out of town transport and cremation for my uncle and once more all was handled with stellar service and compassion. The staff dealt with all of our last minute changes and additions with ease and even offered suggestions to make the services run smoother. I cannot speak highly enough of Mabrie’s services, they can take care of as much or as little as your family requires and DO NOT nickel and dime you on cost. Pricing was affordable and well worth the level of service provided. Additionally, their mortician is absolutely one of the best in the business. If you are having an open casket viewing, rest assured your loves one will look peaceful to leave a positive final memory. My family had private viewing and burial services at Brookside Memorial Park, prior to the Memorial Services for both of my parents. The staff of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary showed our family compassion with professional directions during this very difficult time. Cynthia the funeral director was instrumental in contacting a funeral home in Bryan/College Station for our family to choose the perfect casket. We had to call Cynthia at 11:30 pm on the night of September 23, 2015 to let her know our mother had passed. Cynthia woke up out of her sleep and contacted a funeral home in Bryan/ College Station to pickup mom’s body and transported her to Houston. In embalming they were able to capture her smile, her hair and make-up was beautifully done, the selection of flowers and her dress captured her elegantly character. I apologize for writing such a late review regarding the service provided for my Mother, Juanita Lawson. It was just....hard. The services Mabrie provided was beautiful, thoughtful and thorough. Their handling of everything, including family members that can be "extra" was done with patience, care and respect. Thank you to Justin. And a special thank you to Hazel, our funeral director. The way everything was planned dealing with and organizing a large family during the funeral service and coordinating with the VA Houston Cemetery for interment at a later date took the pressure off a heavily grieving family. My only advice to anyone planning a funeral is to know and work within your budget. You can still make your loved one's home-going special and memorable. We were fortunate to be able to do so. Mabrie handled my Mother's home-going like the Queen she was, with grace, dignity and respect. Thank you Mabrie. Thank you.

I want to thank Justin Mabrie and his staff for the compassion and professionalism shown to me and my sons. Recently my youngest son passed away and I was not prepared but Justin was patient and addressed all my concerns. No one is prepared to bury a child and Justin put together a spray arrangement of flowers fit for a king. I was very proud of his presentation of my son and choice of vocalist to sing his favorite song, Eye on the Sparrow. I will be for ever grateful for the support and dignity shown to my family and deceased son. From the wake to the funeral all the surrounding were comfortable and comforting. The repass held in the dining facility on the second floor also a great place to gather family and friends. I am truly grateful to have found Mabrie Memorial Mortuary at the suggestion of a family friend. I am not a Houston resident but my son was. Many thanks to the team at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary for handling the funeral services of my brother Simon Tidwell. Losing a loved one is a devastating experience, having to plan the funeral is daunting. This very trying time for the family was made bearable by the team at Mabrie. Ariana Harris was understanding and patient while leading us through the planning process. The available options and the associated cost were explained in detail. With her assistance it was easy to make the best decisions for the funeral service for Simon. Mabrie was able to coordinate with the VA for burial of Simon at the National Cemetery. With family coming from out of town it was nice to have the funeral and burial at the national cemetery on the same day. The funeral was dignified and solemn, and the dismissal service was special and handled expertly by the VA. I highly recommend that when going through this difficult process that you entrust your loved one’s remains with Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.

Marbrie handled my Mom’s remains before she was shipped to Chicago for her services. I had the pleasure of working with Justin. They were very professional, helpful. They had the task of dressing and doing the cosmetology for my mom. When she got to Chicago she was beautiful. The makeup was perfect, not too much. She looked so peaceful. Having to bury a loved one during a global pandemic is physically and psychologically taxing on a person. We laid my father to rest in October 2020. Knowing the limitations of having a funeral service at the time was deflating. Funeral procession lines with two cars, (one being the hearse) was a sad sight. With that understood we contacted the Mabrie Mortuary. With the Mabrie Mortuary, the comfort is centered on the surviving family members. In most cases, there were 101 things that needed to be arranged and Justin and the team were on top of everything. One thing that stood out the most was their attention to details in and out. Our engagement never felt like a business transaction. We were not bombarded with overpriced packages and money-grabbing schemes. February 21, 2022 will mark the anniversary of one of the most difficult challenges I have ever had to face in my lifetime. On this day in 2021 my mom Margaret Ann Sampson transitioned to her Forever Home. And like others, I was at a total loss both emotionally and figuratively, being an only child I had little to no instrumental or financial support. Thanks be to God for Justin Mabrie and Mabrie Mortuary. This guy truly took care of everything...from assisting with the life insurance, flowers, programs to the number of officers needed for the escort to the cemetery. The leadership and professionalism from Mr. Mabrie and his staff was remarkable and the personal care they gave me and my mother will forever be appreciated and highly recommend for anyone dealing with the loss of a Loved one and their final transitional needs. Unfortunately I lost my sister in 2011 and Mabrie held the funeral, and it was beautiful but my mother did all the planning so I didn’t work with them. My mother passed and I had to do all the funeral planning myself, and Justin made the planning an absolute breeze. I didn’t have to worry about anything, the family car was really nice, the driver was extremely polite and professional. Sometimes in life unexpected things happen, then you begin to lose hope. That's what we experienced not to long ago in Houston, Texas. After so many days looking for our uncle we finally found him, and it's something no person wants to hear happened... We felt like all hope was at it's end. Looking around we found Mabrie Memorial Mortuary. The director Justin met up with us and has helped us with this very hard transition. Even after hours he met up with us. Everyone there was so polite and helpful. There were many times we didn't know what to do, but Justin was always there ready to help. The ambiance was very welcoming, we couldn't of asked for a better place for our uncle. Everything that was asked of you was delivered to satisfaction: initial transfer, hotel inquiry, repast pickup, home outfit pick-up, attorney referrals, very good hand offs, great follow ups, newspapers, logistics, photographer, beautiful flower arrangements, beautiful casket, video, handling of cremated remains (3 day turn-around) You name it… you guys were on it. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to Justin Mabrie, MBA and the entire staff at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary. My precious father, Mr. Willard John Vital, passed on March 24, 2021 and I felt adequately guided and supported throughout the entire process to celebrate his life and lay him in his final resting place. I went through a methodical selection process before choosing Mabrie and I am overjoyed with my selection. I was looking for the following attributes in a funeral home: highly responsive, professional, clean facilities, modern (in terms of technology), compassionate, flexible, meticulous, collaborative, imaginative, Black-Owned, Louisiana Creole (from a cultural standpoint), aware of Catholic service traditions and located in the historic Third Ward community. I was elated that Mabrie Memorial Mortuary checked all of these tick boxes and more 😊. When I called Justin on March 24th to inform him that my father was in distress, he was calm as I raced to be at my father’s side and said, “I know what to do; you don’t have to call me anymore”. Unfortunately, my father passed shortly thereafter that evening and Mabrie picked my father up with utmost dignity and care with my husband and siblings present. I desired excellence to put my father to rest as a king and Mabrie partnered with me, managed the event execution and other details, provided innovative solutions and exceeded my expectations. I had an antiquated view of funeral homes prior to this experience, and I now have a much greater appreciation for what funeral directors like Justin Mabrie do to provide exception customer experiences for bereaved families. At the end of the day, mortuaries/funeral homes are businesses that develop and plan events and provide services, but the “how” is what makes the difference. When I learned that Justin had taken the time to obtain an MBA, I felt confident that I would be working with a consummate professional; I was delighted to know that he was an HBCU grad like myself (and siblings) as well. All three services (wake, funeral and second line processional + committal) were exceptional and my father looked like himself; handsome and peaceful. Mabrie’s online obituary portal was so helpful and encouraged engagement prior to the services. I honestly do not believe my family would have received so many flowers and gifts without this portal. I appreciated that it allowed for obituary, logistical information, photos, videos and more. I was grateful that Mabrie managed to provide live streaming at all three services and ensured that all of the floral arrangements were beautifully featured at all services. Justin and his team liaised with third party providers (i.e. hospice agency, printing company, musicians, audio/visual providers, media publications, 2 different churches/secretaries/priests, vault company, florists, etc.) on my behalf and always followed up on requests regardless of the time of day. When I forgot to bring a snack for my 4-year old daughter at the wake, Justin magically appeared with a snack bag for her, which kept her calm and quiet. My family literally mistook Justin for one of our family members. They thought that he was one of us because of the way he communicated and interacted with us and my elderly family members. The committal service at the mausoleum took place out of state in Welsh, LA and Justin could have just sent his staff to transport my father, but he came and was very present. When I look back at the videos and photos, I cry (with tears of joy) because of how Justin Mabrie and his staff guided us through the phases of all 3 services and presented a wonderful bible to my 95 -year old uncle. We never felt rushed at any time during these services and Mabrie followed up on remaining items expeditiously post-services. If you lose a loved one in the greater Houston area, you must work with Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.

When my father passed away in December 2020 I had no idea what to do, for he was the first to leave our family. A friend of mine referred me to Mabrie Memorial Mortuary and they were a God sent! I had called other funeral services before calling them and the way that Justin Mabrie had spoken to me with genuine concern and heart felt sympathy for our loss, I knew that they would do right by my dad and my family and they did. Justin was very professional, thorough, kind, and above all patient. He never made us feel rushed and both him and the other members of the staff made us feel like family. They were always warm and courteous. Justin was very flexible, accessible, and reliable. He listened to our concerns and needs and made accommodations for us without any fuss. My mother could not be with my father at the hospital when he had passed because of visitation restrictions at the hospital and Justin made arrangements for her to visit with dad the day before his funeral service and played their favorite songs for her as she reminisced with him. This gave mom much comfort and filled the void that she felt. Mom was very pleased. Mabrie did an excellent job putting everything together for dad's service which was broadcast virtually to family Members around the world. Everyone had the same comment that it was a beautiful service. Justin also continued to be available to assist us with anything additional that we needed long after dad's service. We would like to thank the Mabrie family for everything that they did for our family through this difficult time, and a special thank you to Justin Mabrie who went above and beyond to take care of our family.

Mabrie Memorial Mortuary provided exceptional service to me and my family after my father passed. We were told to contact a mortuary and decided to go with Mabrie for a number of reasons. They are black-owned, centrally located in the city of Houston, and we had both a familial and professional connection. Having no experience in planning a funeral, I was mentally overwhelmed with what I imagined would happen during the process. However, upon contacting them and speaking with Justin Mabrie, I was assured of a much simpler process (on my end). They handled everything in a most seamless manner, leaving me only to deal with my personal grief. This, I appreciated very much, because I would have not fared well had they not handled the logistics of essentially coordinating the funeral, burial and insurance, etc. They were organized and professional and really, the hardest part for me was signing paperwork and making decisions that I'd hoped would honor my father. I soon learned upon seeing my father during our private viewing, that Mabrie also does "good work", meaning that the deceased looks like themselves, and not overly made up and/or like a stranger. While I had heard of this before, it was apparent when I looked at my father, that he indeed looked like he was resting. This was also quite assuring, as I had no expectation, because most people I've viewed (respectfully), almost never look natural. The final viewing, funeral and burial services also went without incident. My family and I were most pleased, and decided that Mabrie Memorial Mortuary would indeed be the mortuary we would use should the need arise. My personal recommendation is that if you do your part (I.e. have some type of end of life conversations with your loved ones and help them to manage their affairs (as best you can), Mabrie would certainly do theirs! We, without exception, recommend Mabrie Memorial Mortuary!

Where do I begin. Mabrie Mortuary was a God sent for our family. Mr. Justin Mabrie, Director was so professional and attentive to our needs. He and his staff took great care of our dad. The last time my mother saw dad was at home when the EMT put him in the ambulance to go to the hospital. Mr. Justin carefully listened to my mother’s concerns about the grooming and care of dad. When we had our family time with dad, mom was so pleased to see dad. She was at peace and felt good in her spirit. Dad looked as if he was resting peacefully. Mr. Justin was patient in explaining things to us more than once and was very accommodating to our needs from beginning to the very end. The facility and chapel is beautiful, clean and smelled nice. Mabrie has been part of our family since 1999 when my grandmother passed. Mabrie took wonderful care in making her beautiful as well as making our large family happy in sending her to her final resting place. We dealt directly with Justin Mabrie who was professional, thoughtful, and very well organized. He always responded to our text messages and telephone calls promptly and was very patient with us. We had my mother's services in the Rose Chapel and it was more than enough room for people to social distance during this COVID pandemic. In addition, we purchased the online streaming option which allowed many of my moms friends and relatives to attend the services remotely. On Tuesday, April 7th, I received a phone call from the hospital where my mother was receiving care informing me she had passed at 3:40 AM. After being advised to make funeral arrangements, I called different funeral homes until I reached Mabrie Memorial Mortuary. Even in the wee hours of that morning, funeral director Cynthia Jones answered my phone call and helped me with kindness and compassion, offering my father and I support. Making arrangements for the funeral and the burial of my mother without an advanced directive or will with her wishes left me feeling scared, but Ms. Jones reassured me that we were doing the best we could. I felt like this was one way I could care for my mom and express my love for her by making sure she was in the right hands. By Friday, April 10th, I knew we had made the right decision by choosing Mabrie. The funeral service was so beautiful and since it was livestreamed, family and friends from near and far were able to pay respects, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic; even family members in India who streamed the service told me that Mabrie did an amazing tribute to my mother. The fact that the love I felt in-person was transmitted online speaks volumes of the people here. Everything was done with great care and safety. My family was able to honor my mom in both English and their first language, Malayalam. At the burial, Ms. Jones was by our side there too. Justin Mabrie and Dr. Rahn Hall provided amazing care during and after the funeral. Months later, they still check in with my father and I to see how we are holding up; with the state of the world, it means that much more to us. The level of care and compassion found at Mabrie is unmatched. Losing a loved one is never easy, but Mabrie helped us and continues to help us as we navigate the loss of my mother.

My family could not have asked for more in terms of location, service, level of compassion, professionalism, support and beauty for planning our father's memorial service. The decor inside looks like the epitome of black excellence and the staff follows suit, really, truly allowing for a unique service, even offering coffee, tea and refreshments. We came in on Thursday with hopes of creating a non-traditional service on Saturday and they got everything in order in no time, without trying to box us in to a pre-formatted program. Some things we even forgot to clarify, explain or provide in terms of order or service or special touches and they picked right up on important details and were able to direct our guests accordingly. When the sad occasion comes that another loved one leaves this side of heaven, we will definitely turn to Mabrie's to honor their memory.

I cannot begin to express our gratitude, appreciation and immense respect that my family and I have for the Mabrie staff. After being extremely let down from a previous funeral mortuary, we ran across Mabrie and reached out at the last minute to see if they could conduct our dad's homegoing service for us. In our frustration and vulnerability, Justin went above and beyond to assist us in our time of need. He was attentive, intuitive, knowledgeable, friendly, caring, patient, compassionate and the epitome of professionalism. He explained things in a way in which we could understand. Not only did he make accommodations for a non-traditional service, but he contributed creative ways to enhance our guests' experience. From the coordination, the communication to the actual day of the homegoing, everything was timely and literally perfect. We even received a nice surprise at the end of the service that really made my day. Even after everything was said and done, we were still having issues with the prior funeral home. Justin made himself available to clarify and answer lingering questions we had in order to have more informed conversations with the other funeral home. Not to mention the venue looks like a museum! Every single inch of the mortuary looked and felt like a rich history of Black excellence. Knowing my dad and the way he advocated the Black community, professionalism and quality - Mabrie encompassed all three to the T! Our guests are STILL talking about our dad’s homegoing as if it were an event. Every moment was special and done with love. I will always be eternally grateful for that. My family has used their services for not one but two members, my grandmother in June 2019 and uncle in December 2019. Cynthia, Justin and the entire staff took their time and were extremely patient, understanding, helpful and caring in their handling of our services. We had a traditional burial for my grandmother and everything was handled from top to bottom, services went off without a hitch. We had an out of town transport and cremation for my uncle and once more all was handled with stellar service and compassion. The staff dealt with all of our last minute changes and additions with ease and even offered suggestions to make the services run smoother. I cannot speak highly enough of Mabrie’s services, they can take care of as much or as little as your family requires and DO NOT nickel and dime you on cost. Pricing was affordable and well worth the level of service provided. Additionally, their mortician is absolutely one of the best in the business. If you are having an open casket viewing, rest assured your loves one will look peaceful to leave a positive final memory. Mabrie has become our family’s mortuary and we will be using their services as need arises in the future. Thank you so much for the love and compassion you all have shown the Harris family!

I have used Mabrie for both of my parents final arrangements and my most recent experience was truly the greatest. Justin and his team went above and beyond to make sure I was attended to and that all my wishes came true. Despite my own challenges and constant changes all Justin would say is OK, I will make that happen. I am now considering a pre-need plan for myself as I want my final services to operate as smoothly as this one did. The attention to detail was impeccable and the tokens presented by Justin reflected my mother and overall thoughtfulness of the team. At my moms burial Justin presented my family and I with a custom throw blanket which contained a photo of my mother and I at my kindergarten graduation that brought tears to my eyes. I cannot say thank you enough.

My dad, Dec. Freddie L. Shelton, Sr. passed away on June 11, 2019, after a struggle of health issues. The Mabrie Staff were so kind. From the time they picked up my father until the time they they laid him to rest at the V A Cemetery. From Lynn Harris to Justin, they both took great care of the Shelton Family. Justin's selection of the casket spray put everything over the edge. It was so personal and beautiful. I know he put a lot of thought into the selection. That is a caring spirit i know. The funeral ran so smoothly family and friends gave so many compliments. Justin often asked if we were ok. Monday Justin and Lynn made sure we were ok with everything every step of the way. I would like to say thank you so much for caring about the families that you all help. It makes a difficult and sad time go by so smooth with great comfort. This was such a stressful time for me, as well as difficult to schedule a church to have the funeral, a caterer for the repast, and a printer for the programs due to holiday closures. Nevertheless, from the moment I talked with Justin he assured me not to worry and they could make it all happen - and they did! This was my first experience with Mabrie, but it won't be my last. I was so pleased with everything! Justin and Tiffany were so personable during the entire process and everthing went without a glitch! After the funeral was over, Justin followed up to make sure I was okay and Tiffany kept me informed of necessary paperwork that was being tracked. The entire staff was professional and my husband looked good, even after a lengthy illness! Based on my experiencre, I would strongly recommend Mabrie to all of my friends and family.

We have used Mabrie services before with my grandmother in 2010. They did an excellent job with her and with the burial arrangements being out of state . We recently used their services again with my father passing away suddenly in December 2018. Mabrie made very easy for us to make all the funeral arrangements that needed to be done in short period of time especially since my father was buried in another state. They coordinated with all vendors that were involved in state and out of state. It was Hassle free!.!! At the visitation service held at Mabrie, all our guest raved how good my father looked for he "looked so life like.". Mabrie were very knowledgeable and catered to our needs. They had very reliable vendors and resources available. Mabrie made sure that our family needs were met and followed up with our family through out entire progress. Thank you for making the progress less stressful and hassle free!

Mabrie Memorial Mortuary did a wonderful job for both my Mother and my Brother's homegoing. As a matter of fact it was my Mother's request for Mabrie to handle her funeral services because she was so impressed with the services that Mabrie Mortuary did for her good friend and neighbor. Mabrie Memorial Mortuary did an outstanding job for my Brother-in-Law's Father. They took care of every detail and showed much kindness to my Brother-in-Laws 90 year old bereaving mother. She expressed to me how pleased she was with the services that Mabrie's Mortuary did. The limos and the Chapel were super clean and the staff was helpful in every way. Mabrie Memorial Mortuary offers by far some of the best service I have seen in Houston. I highly recommend them.

When you lose a loved one unexpectantly; the initial feelings, especially, are shock and confusion. Unfortuately, this is often a time when many decisions have to be made, difficult and painful decisions. Thankfully, at this time I had the family of Mabrie Mortuary there to lovingly and reasurringly guide me thru the process. From the moment I made contact with them, their aim was to relieve some of the burden. At times when I was anxious, they said "don't worry." They backed up reasurring words with positive action, taking on task I could not. I felt a measure of peace because I knew my beautiful sister who had passed and my family were in good hands. Mabrie Memorial not only take care of all matters that affect your head at this time (phone calls, arranging, calming, getting things done), but their goal is to take care of your heart. The preparation of my mom's Homegoing Celebration had been an apprehensive situation of mine for awhile once my mom started getting very ill. The staff consisting of Cynthia Jones, Tiffany Vaughner & "Pops" made the preparation of services for my mother Josephine Brown run easy and smooth. I met with Cynthia Jones on a Monday at the mortuary to receive the knowledge of how to prepare for a funeral. I wanted to be SOMEWHAT prepared, whenever God called my mom to Glory. Ms. Jones JUST couldn't believe when the answering service called her Thursday of the same week about 6:00 am that I needed my mom's body transported to their facility. She called me personally to make sure it was myself that had called & stating she couldn't believe my mom had passed that quickly from the day I 1st spoke with her. Ms. Jones gave me her condolences & to let her know if there was anything she could do for me or my family if I/we needed anything. I highly recommend Mabrie Mortuary, they made my mom look beautiful & seem to do everything with care & love.

Mabrie's Memorial Mortuary gets a five star rating from me and my family. My beloved husband of 44 years passed away in late September and because my pastor was out of the country, we didn't have the funeral until October 6, 2018. The staff assured us that all would be well, and it was! Everyone who attended the funeral remarked about the wonderful job Mabrie's had done. We were treated with courtesy and respect and the entire staff was professional and compassionate. I highly recommend Mabrie's to anyone who desires to have their departed love one provided with the finest earthly care possible. Although it’s been several years since the death of my beloved son Troy Owens we still reflect on how caring and professional you all were in handling all the arrangements for us. We didn’t think things would go as smooth as they did seeing that we were from out of state and Troy needed to be transported back to Colorado. But Justin reassured us that he would take care of everything and there would be no need to worry. And Yes, he stood by his word and even kept us posted until Troy was delivered to the receiving mortuary in Colorado. I even remember the other mortuary complimenting Mabrie Mortuary on how they took care of Troy before they received him. My entire family always ask me to convey their deep appreciation to you Justin and the entire staff. The loving care you displayed during that difficult time will never be forgotten. Mabrie Mortuary took care of my mother, Norma Ferrell and my brother Bennie Ferrell Jr. in their transition to a Heavenly home. My mother told us she wanted Mabrie Mortuary to take care of her funeral arrangements after she attended the funeral of our neighbor, Dr. Hargrove Wooten. She said that Dr. Wooten's funeral was the most beautiful service she had experienced and she wanted the same for her homegoing. The family of Elvira Foote Jones highly recommends Mabrie Memorial Mortuary for your love ones final needs. We experienced the most celebrated memory of our mother’s home going. The staff of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary showed our family compassion with professional directions during this very difficult time. Cynthia the funeral director was instrumental in contacting a funeral home in Bryan/College Station for our family to choose the perfect casket. We had to call Cynthia at 11:30pm on the night of September 23, 2015 to let her know our mother had passed. Cynthia woke up out of her sleep and contacted a funeral home in Bryan/ College Station to pickup mom’s body and transported her to Houston. In embalming they were able to capture her smile, her hair and make-up was beautifully done, the selection of flowers and her dress captured her elegantly character.
